Symmetry
Products with Valerian: Night
Lite
According
to herbal medicine, Valerian acts
as a sedative, antispasmodic and
diuretic. Called the "Valium of
the nineteenth century" valerian
is recognized world wide for its
relaxing effect on the body. In
Europe, it is often used to control
anxiety, insomnia and excitability.
Valerian does not have their unpleasant
side effects (except it doesn't
taste very good) and it is not
addictive. Valerian has a synergistic
effect with alcohol. For centuries,
valerian has been used to relieve
muscle cramps related to stress,
menstrual cramps, and premenstrual
syndrome PMS. Although valerian
has been widely studied, how this
herb works is still not known.
Caution:
In extremely high dosages, valerian
may cause paralysis and a weakening
of the heartbeat. So do not exceed
recommended dosage.
Valerian was used frequently in
the United States before modern
sleeping pills.
